What it’s all about:

As an artist and career creative, I’m very interested in expanding the knowledge and perspective of curious people who want to experience more of what life has to offer. I believe that the quality of our experiences enhance our overall quality of life, and that new experiences help us to be more equipped to face our challenges with confidence.

There are so many things throughout the making process to take away — learning a new skill, making something amazing that you never thought you could make, or simply having fun doing something totally cool and fun! Throughout the making process we can find a variety of hidden gems that teach us a little about ourselves and how we relate to the world. And when we get the chance to take something tangible away from that experience we are reminded of what we are capable of and maybe we find a way to appreciate a little bit more of what we have to offer.

That said, WorkWorkshop isn’t just about making things…it’s about experiencing this moment that prepares us for what’s next. I want you to show up with a little curiosity—besides, where’s the fun in knowing exactly what’s going to happen next? Mental flexibility, creative problem solving, overcoming fear of the unknown, and overcoming failure are all parts of the making process that we can take with us in addition to the cool stuff we get to create here at the WorkWorkshop.

I take pride in keeping this space organized, clean, and safe so that you can pay attention to what’s going on right in front of you and enjoy the experience of working with me in my creative space.

Beyond the authentic experience of being in a workshop with all the tools and toys to play and make stuff with, the fun is in the work itself! That’s why I call it WorkWorkshop. The real good stuff is in learning through doing. This kind of work forces you to address what is real in the moment. The ideas is that if you can be aware and present when you are experiencing something new here at the WorkWorkshop, then you will be that much more equipped to navigate challenges when something pops up “the real world”.

Lastly, we are not here to train you to be experts. We are here to inspire you to explore and become more curious, more creative and more aware of yourself and your impact on your surroundings through the making process…and of course you’re here to have fun!

In Krisa’s Custom Experience we made a fireplace claw!

Working with metal was something I really wanted to check off my bucket list and it was definitely worth it working with Erich. We had a great day together and I learned a lot. It was fascinating to learn all about metal and heating it up and manipulating it into something totally usable. I think welding the metal was my favorite part. I would totally recommend this class and I’m looking forward to taking another.

My wife had asked me what I wanted me for my birthday. I told her I wanted a fire poker. She decided instead of just buying me one she would surprise me with the opportunity to make my own. She set me up with an afternoon with Erich, who offers this safe and socially distanced activity. Over an afternoon he guided me in making progressively more complex creations ending with my very own fire poker. Erich was a patient and fun teacher!
